Android Studio is the official IDE for Android development, therefore, let us look at the official System requirement:

For Mac

Which OS Should you use to Develop for Android Studio?

In my experience, Mac and Linux are the better operating system for android development but if you get a PC with good Configuration, a windows laptop will perform just as fine and lags will not be noticed.

Checklist for Choosing The Recommended Android Development Laptops

As you can see from the requirements above Android Studio does not need a lot to run, but for in order to run Android Studio Effectively and Minimize Frustrations this list will prioritize:

  1. Storage Type – Solid State Drive
  2. Storage Space – minimum 500 GB

  4. RAM Type – minimum of DDR4
  5. Body Weight & Portability – less than 2kg or 4.41 lb
